An Ohio University employee working at Lorain County Community College received an e-mail Aug. 29 saying there was a bomb on campus. The email, according to FBI spokesman Scott Wilson, was one of many bomb threats sent to Ohio colleges that Wednesday. Most people would be concerned if they knew four dean positions were open at the beginning of a new school year. At Lorain County Community College, people do not have to worry. Students on campus for afternoon classes Tuesday witnessed a major power outage that left six cities without power. According to Ohio Edison officials, power went out around 2:20 P.M., and wasn't fully returned until 5 p.m. During that time, Lorain County Community College was left without power as students roamed the dim lit halls to find that their classes had been cancelled.… Post the First Comment

As part of campus-wide operational improvements, Lorain County Community College will be converting their paper towel system to eco-friendly rolled paper towels. The switch, initiated by Bob Bohn, plant operations supervisor, was made because the old C-fold towels tended to come out in large quantities and end up as waste on the floor.… Post the First Comment
